Tracey Abbott • Albany Senior High School

Tracey is a Teacher and Community Leader at Albany Senior High School and is partnering  with Spark to design a learning experience that helps students recognise the importance of social and emotional skills in the new era of work. Tracey is passionate about character development and helping students to realise that emotional and social intelligence is as important as academic excellence to career and life success.

Jess Carter • Ormiston Junior College

Jess is the Project Based Learning Teacher at Ormiston Junior College and is partnering with Air New Zealand to design a learning experience to help students build 21C skills and create a pathway connecting school and the workforce. Jess’s goal is to develop future leaders who are critical thinkers with drive and empathy.

Jayne Dunbar • Hobsonville Point Seconday School

Jayne is the Learning Pathway Leader at Hobsonville Point Secondary School and is partnering  with Air New Zealand to design a learning experience for school leavers. Jayne is driven to see all students engaged in learning that is meaningful for them as individuals and connected to the real world through targeted exposure to industry.

Rachel Eveleigh • Kelston Girls' College

Rachel is an Art Teacher at Kelston Girls’ College and is partnering with Babcock International to design a learning experience that helps students recognise how art, design and creativity skills can be valuable in the new era of work. Rachel’s professional learning goal is to expose students to a range of careers within the creative industries through innovative and collaborative projects.

Nicola Hackett • Kristin School

Nicola is the Y8 Associate Dean at Kristin School and is partnering with Spark to design a learning experience for her Y8 - 10 English students centred around wellbeing. Nicola is passionate about wellbeing and creating meaningful activities for her students to develop their creativity and growth mindsets.

Sylvie Huang • Ormiston Junior College

Syvlie is a Learning Designer at Ormiston Junior College. She  is partnering with Xero to design a learning experience that empowers students to turn their ideas into reality through entrepreneurship and understand how to use their design and technology skills in a work environment. Sylvie’s professional learning goal is to be an enabler for creative solutions and drive digital transformation in education.

Nyla Joaquin • Ormiston Junior College

Nyla is a Learning Coach at Ormiston Junior College and is partnering with ATEED to design a learning experience that enables students to build agency and develop their digital fluency, entrepreneurship, design thinking and wellbeing skills. Nyla is passionate about instilling self-belief and helping students push above and beyond what they think they are capable of.

Leslie Mansell • Ormiston Junior College

Lesley is a Learning Designer at Ormiston Junior College and is partnering  with Xero to design a relevant and authentic learning experience that helps students build and understand the 21st century skills they will need to thrive in the new era of work. Lesley’s professional learning goal is to improve outcomes for project based learning by connecting with outside experts and industry.

Miriam McIvor • Aorere College

Miriam is a Social Science and History teacher at Aorere College and is partnering with ATEED to design a learning experience for her students to explore careers aligned with social issues and positive change  in their communities. Miriam is passionate about creating real-world learning experiences to empower students to succeed and make change of their own.

Gareth Moore • Waiheke High School

Gareth is a Social Studies and Music teacher at Waiheke High School and is partnering with Google to design a learning experience exploring new digital technologies and how the AR workplace will look as his Gen Z students enter the workforce. Before becoming an educator, Gareth designed and built New Zealand’s largest contemporary music school creating connections and ties within the creative industries across over 500 schools.

Soteria Mulipola-Samu • Albany Senior High School

Soteria is the Travel and Tourism Teacher at Albany Senior High School. She  is partnering with SkyCity to design a learning experience that aligns with the different roles available in the tourism industry to help her students build the range of 21C skills imperative to the world of tourism. Soteria is passionate about building self-belief in students and creating learning that is relevant to the real world of work.

Emma O'Riordan • Manurewa High School

Emma is the Director of Disruption at the Manurewa High School Business School and is partnering with Spark to design a learning experience that helps trades-focused students appreciate potential entrepreneurial pathways. Emma’s professional learning goal is to navigate meaningful pathways for students to leave school equipped for the ever changing world of work as change makers in the community locally, nationally and globally.

Marie Sua • Aorere College

Marie is the Y13 Dean at Aorere College and is partnering with SkyCity to design a real-world learning experience that helps students build the twenty first century  skills employers are looking for work. Marie’s professional learning goal is to improve access to apprenticeships and cadetships for students.

Jodie Terry • Hillcrest High School

Jodie is a Specialist Classroom Teacher at Hillcrest High School and is partnering with Fonterra to design a learning experience to build on the leadership and innovation skills of her Y10 Gifted students. Jodie is passionate about inspiring students to want to learn by creating interesting learning experiences aligned with the real world, to give them the tools to seek and apply innovative solutions both locally and globally.

Andrea Tong • Age School

Andrea is the Junior High Learning Coach at Age School and is partnering  with Babcock International to design an authentic learning experience that explores pathways beyond school and builds 21C skills. Andrea is inspired by designing and facilitating relevant and contextual interdisciplinary, project-based curriculum that instils a passion for life-long learning in students.
